The business is mainly ocean freight but they also have air freight and road freight customers. They do their own customs clearance. Previous experience in sea freight is necessary in a forwarding environment. Training can be provided on relevant documentation if needed (e.g. letters of credit, consular documents, etc). Good customer service skills and the ability to be methodical and well organized under pressure are essential.
Based in our client's UK head office your role will be to assist with all container terminal and feeder matters in European and Mediterranean area, Transatlantic service operations and all relating to operations. * Handling IMO/OOG applications, issuing schedules and liaising with company offices across the world. * Terminal back up, providing manager withsupport on contract negotiations and analysi. * Reporting on cost performance and control. In addition to experience in the marine industry, candidates should have excellent pc skills and be flexible to work across Europe.

The successful candidate will process customer quotations in liaison with the sales team, talk to carriers and keep statistics and records of business won and lost. There is a heavy volume of work and meeting tight deadlines is vital. As such, he/she must be very well organised. Previous experience in the sea freight sector is essential and there will also be some road freight and air freight. He/she will also develop new business opportunities for the sale team and if successful will be rewarded through a commission scheme.
